"Cresca is my heart. My mission is to make learning inclusive, imaginative, and deeply human."

Hi, I'm Senny, born and raised in Durban, where creativity and expression are part of everyday life. Teaching found me naturally, and ESL quickly became a space where I could help students grow into their own voice, not a borrowed one.

I hold a degree in Psychology, which shapes how I teach and how I connect with students. It helps me understand how people learn, what motivates them, and how to create a safe and supportive learning environment where mistakes are part of the process.

I'm also TEFL certified and have taught students from many countries, including Poland, Germany, Italy, Turkey, and Japan. This experience allows me to adapt my lessons to each learner's pace, personality, and needs.

As a native English speaker, my teaching style is lively, personal, and confidence focused. My goal is to help students feel comfortable, understood, and capable of expressing themselves clearly.

As a Black woman and Co Founder of Cresca, this work is about more than education. It is about representation, leadership, and building something meaningful.

Cresca is my heart. My mission is to make learning inclusive, imaginative, and deeply human.

"Cresca exists because learning should feel safe, supportive, and encouraging, never stressful. For my dad. Always. 💙"

Hi, I'm Teacher Sammy short for Samantha. Teaching has always felt natural to me. It's where my patience, curiosity, and love for people come together.

I'm from Johannesburg, a diverse city that shaped my passion for communication and connection. I've been teaching since 2022, and along the way I've learned that English is more than a language. It's confidence, self expression, and a sense of belonging.

I'm qualified in online teaching and trained in methodology, which allows me to adapt lessons to different learning styles, emotions, and challenges. I'm also studying psychology, helping me teach with empathy and create a safe, supportive learning environment.

Cresca began as an idea between Senny and I with a shared vision. Shortly after, I lost my father, who was also a teacher. While Cresca wasn't created for him, it became a quiet tribute to the kindness, patience, and belief in others that he lived by.

Cresca exists because learning should feel safe, supportive, and encouraging, never stressful.

Why we started Cresca

It started with a spark

Cresca was born from our connection, natural, safe, and rare. We understood each other, supported each other, and shared the same vision.

It started with a spark

We questioned everything

Those photos? They're a reminder of who we were before Cresca, two women who laughed, dreamed, and wanted something more.

We questioned everything

Let's do it differently

We saw the same thing in our students: they didn't just want lessons, they wanted confidence, clarity, and care.

Let's do it differently

We built what we wished existed

The way we show up for each other is the way we show up for our students.

We built what we wished existed

Cresca was born

A space where people feel seen, grow in confidence, and where every accent is the best accent.

Cresca was born

Grow your confidence. Speak your world.

CRESCA

means growth.

Rooted in African unity.

Refined for global excellence.

The Calabash

The calabash for one, is a symbol of Africanism and cultural heritage representing unity of purpose. It has cultural and social symbolism as well as artistic, spiritual and symbolic meaning. It is not only a natural container for storing beer or water, but also has an educational value; serving as a tool for teaching traditional artistry, environmental studies while embodying philosophical concepts like Ubuntu (humanity) thereby strengthening indigenous knowledge systems. In an African setting, when men and women share traditional beer from one calabash, they tell stories of nation building, development and education, enabling them to learn from one another.

The Laurel Wreath

On the other hand, the laurel wreath, dating back to earliest Europeans, signifies victory, high honour and intellectual achievement in arts or poetry. Heavily influenced by Romans, it was adopted as a symbol of academic excellence.
